AI Clipping Tool, Free

The whole clipping workflow. None of the paywall.

Most AI clipping tools give you a taste for free, then stamp a watermark on your clips or ask for a card. FreeClip doesn't: upload a video, and the AI hands back vertical clips with captions that are yours to post.

How it works

Free clipping in three steps

No editor to learn, no timeline to scrub.

  1. I

    Drop in a video

MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 60 minutes. Big files are compressed in your browser while they upload, so you are not stuck waiting.

  2. II

    The AI picks the moments

Every word is transcribed, then the AI looks for self-contained moments with a strong first line — the kind people stop scrolling for.

  3. III

    Download vertical clips

Each moment is cropped to 9:16 around the speaker's face and captioned word by word. Download the MP4s and post.

What "free" usually means for AI clipping tools

Search for an AI clipping tool and you will find plenty that advertise a free plan. In practice, the free tier is often a trial: a handful of processing minutes per month, a watermark on every export, lower resolution, or a credit card before you can download anything. That is a fair business model, but it is frustrating when you just want to see whether AI clipping works for your content.

FreeClip takes a different approach. The core workflow — transcription, highlight detection, vertical reframing and captions — is free during the beta. Instead of locking features, the free version has simple usage limits so the service stays fast for everyone.

Who a free AI clipper is for

  • New creators testing whether short-form clips grow their channel before paying for a subscription.
  • Podcasters who publish one long episode a week and want a few clips for Shorts, Reels and TikTok.
  • Coaches, teachers and speakers with recorded webinars, lectures or talks sitting unwatched.
  • Small teams who need a quick social cut of an interview without opening a video editor.

Getting the best clips out of a free tool

The AI chooses moments from what people say, so the transcript matters more than the visuals. A few habits make a big difference:

  1. Use videos with clear speech. Talking-head recordings, interviews and podcasts clip best. Music videos or gameplay without commentary give the AI little to work with.
  2. Trim long intros first. If the first ten minutes are setup, cutting them gives the AI more of the good material to choose from.
  3. Keep one speaker in frame when you can. The vertical crop follows the face it finds; a single clear speaker gives the cleanest result.
  4. Pick, don't post everything. Each clip comes with a viral score and its hook line. Post the strongest one or two and test from there.

Because clips are deleted after 24 hours, download the ones you like right away. Your original upload is deleted as soon as processing finishes.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is this AI clipping tool free without a watermark?

Yes. Clips come out clean — no logo, no end card, no "made with" text. You can post them anywhere.

What is the catch with a free AI clipping tool?

The free beta has daily limits instead of a paywall: 3 videos a day as a guest, or 5 when you sign in with a free account, each up to 60 minutes and 2 GB. Clips are deleted after 24 hours, so download what you want to keep. If you need more, optional minute packs are available.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can clip a video without signing up or giving an email — a quick bot check runs in the background before upload. Signing in is optional and raises your free limit from 3 to 5 videos a day.

How many clips do I get from one video?

Usually 3 to 5. Videos under 10 minutes get 3 clips, under 30 minutes get 4, and longer videos get 5. Each clip is usually 20–60 seconds.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. The uploader runs in mobile browsers, so you can pick a recording from your camera roll without installing an app.

Which languages does it support?

The transcriber detects the spoken language automatically, so videos in languages other than English work too. Captions are written in the same language as the speech.

Can I use the clips commercially?

If you own the video or have the rights to it, yes. FreeClip does not claim any rights to your uploads or clips.
