Podcast Clips, Made by AI

Your best lines deserve more than one listen.

A great podcast episode is full of moments people would share — if they ever heard them. FreeClip pulls those moments out of your video podcast and turns them into vertical clips with captions, free.

How it works

Episode in, podcast clips out

Promote every episode without an editor.

  1. I

    Upload your episode

The video recording of your podcast — studio, Zoom or Riverside export — up to 60 minutes.

  2. II

    AI finds the quotable moments

The conversation is transcribed and scanned for stories, hot takes and answers that stand on their own.

  3. III

    Share vertical clips

Each moment becomes a 9:16 clip with word-by-word captions and a suggested title.

Why podcast clips grow a show

Podcasts have a discovery problem: nobody can preview an hour of conversation in a feed. Short clips solve that. A 40-second moment on YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels or TikTok lets a stranger hear your voice, your guest and your best idea in the time it takes to scroll — and the ones who like it go looking for the full episode.

That is why so many shows now publish a handful of clips with every episode. The challenge is the work: someone has to listen back, mark timestamps, cut, reframe to vertical and caption. For a weekly show that is hours of editing every week. An AI podcast clip maker does the listening and cutting for you.

What makes a good podcast clip

  • It opens mid-thought, not with "so, um". The AI looks for a first line that grabs attention on its own.
  • It is complete. One story, one answer or one argument from start to finish — no "as I said earlier".
  • It is readable on mute. Word-by-word captions carry the clip for people scrolling without sound.
  • It shows a face. Clips with the speaker in frame tend to hold attention better than audiograms.

Podcast clips for every platform

Every clip is exported as a vertical 9:16 MP4, usually 20 to 60 seconds long, which fits:

  • YouTube Shorts — link each Short to the full episode on your channel.
  • Instagram Reels — post clips of your guests and tag them so they can share too.
  • TikTok — the hook line suggested for each clip makes a good on-screen caption.
  • LinkedIn and X — vertical video plays well in both feeds for business and interview shows.

A simple clip routine for each episode

  1. Record and publish your episode as usual.
  2. Upload the video file to FreeClip and get 3–5 clips.
  3. Download the clips with the highest viral scores — clips are deleted after 24 hours.
  4. Schedule one clip every day or two until the next episode, each pointing to the full show.
  5. Send guests their clip — it is the easiest way to get them to share the episode.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I make clips from my podcast?

Upload the video recording of your episode. The AI transcribes the conversation, picks the strongest moments (usually 20–60 seconds each), crops them to 9:16 around the speaker and adds captions.

Can I use an audio-only podcast?

Not yet. FreeClip needs a video file because it frames the speaker in each clip. If you record audio only, export a video version (for example from your recording tool) and upload that.

How long can my episode be?

Up to 60 minutes and 2 GB per upload. For longer episodes, upload the hour you want clips from.

What happens with two or more people on camera?

The vertical crop follows a detected face to keep a speaker centered. Clips work best when one person is talking in frame; wide shots of several people may crop tighter than you expect.

How many podcast clips do I get per episode?

3 to 5 per episode — 5 for episodes over 30 minutes. You can process 3 episodes a day for free, or 5 when signed in.

Are the clips watermarked?

No. Podcast clips are clean, with no logo or end card, so they fit your show's branding.
